Sewing Classes
We offer sewing classes for youth and adults through School for the Arts. Current class offerings include:
Intro to Sewing - Fabric Bookmarks. Ages 8+. Cost: $55
This class is designed for the true beginner. We will start by taking a tour of a sewing machine; looking at its functions and features, winding and loading a bobbin, threading the machine, replacing a needle, changing the presser foot, care and maintenance, and how to operate safely. We’ll put our skills into practice by learning how to sew straight seams while making fabric bookmarks for yourself and your friends. Project Materials and Sewing Machine for use are included with registration.

Intro to Sewing - Market Bag. Ages 14+ (younger students may enroll w/ adult). Cost: $87.
Whether you’re just starting out or need a refresher using a sewing machine, we’ve got you covered. We will start by getting familiar with a sewing machine; looking at its functions and features, winding and loading a bobbin, threading the machine, replacing a needle, changing the presser foot, care and maintenance, and how to operate safely. We’ll then put our skills into practice by making a fun & functional reversible maket tote, working together step-by-step to complete this project. Project Materials and Sewing Machine for use are included with registration.
