Sewing 101: How to Use a Sewing Machine

Date:  Saturday, April 12th.  Time:  10:00-11:00 am.   Location:  Alyssum Patch Contemporary Quilt Shop.  213 E. Grand River Ave.  Howell, MI. 48843.

Would you like to learn how to sew, but don’t know where to start?  This is the class for you!  We will explore the ins and outs of a sewing machine: its functions and features, winding and loading a bobbin, threading the machine, replacing a needle, changing the presser foot, care and maintenance, and how to operate safely.  We’ll then put our skills into practice by learning how to sew straight seams with scrap fabric.  By the end of this workshop you'll be ready to join one of our beginner sewing project classes.

Ages:  Adult (16+).  Skill Level:  Beginner.  Seats Available:  6

No materials required, sewing machines will be provided for use.
